The first half of 2017 has proved to be a strong start for McCarthy Recruitment after the company was recognised as the fifth best workplace in Europe.
The news comes just months after the business was awarded second place in the UK’s Best Workplace earlier this year. The awards, which have been running for 15 consecutive years, acknowledged 119 businesses following survey submissions from more than 2,340 companies across 18 countries. Kate McCarthy, owner and managing director of McCarthy Recruitment, collected the award at the ceremony in Paris on June 8 along with sales and operations director Ian McMullin, who has worked for the business for more than 10 years. Kate, who has been running the recruitment business for more than 12 years, said she was ‘absolutely elated’ to be named in fifth place in The Great Place to Work Awards.
She said: “It is more than I could have dreamt of to not only be recognised in the UK, but also in Europe and I am so proud of my team who are all totally committed to the business and ultimately make it possible for me to lead them to greater success, year on year. When I originally founded McCarthy, I had a vision for what kind of place I wanted it to be and how it would feel to work here. I didn’t want us to be the biggest, but I wanted us to be the best, and I wanted my team to enjoy coming to work.
Since our inception, we have grown and evolved so much and I am lucky to have a number of long-standing members of staff who have worked for me for five to ten years now.”
In the past, employees have benefitted from family trips to the zoo, Christmas parties for their children and an amazing rewards programme.
